Reflecting the architectural design of St Catherine's College in Oxford, where it was originally designed, the AJ Oxford Table Lamp features a sleek graphic design. Jacobsen created a modernist architectural lamp, contrasting with Oxford University's classical architecture. Initially designed as a table pin lamp for the college's dining hall, the lamps still adorn the oak tables, serving as centerpieces while natural light filters in through clerestory windows.

I've had this lamp on my desk for about two months now and it's become one of my favorite pieces in the room. The glass shade creates this beautiful, soft downward light that's perfect for reading. I love the sleek graphic design. It feels both timeless and contemporary. The build quality is exactly what you'd expect from Louis Poulsen, solid and well-crafted. I love the story behind it too, knowing it was originally for St. Catherine's College at Oxford. There's something special about having a piece with that kind of architectural heritage on your table.
