The Poltrona Frau Story
Poltrona Frau is an Italian furniture and home accessories design company founded in 1912. Designing and producing furniture and leather goods, Poltrona Frau uses a team of craftsmen, cutting-edge technology and complex artisanal techniques to create understated, yet elegant and luxurious pieces. Dedicated to sustainability, Poltrona Frau was one of the first Italian companies to be certified in accordance with the ISO social responsibility guidelines. Wood used in Poltrona Frau’s designs is Forest Stewardship Council certified.
Key Features
The Vanity Fair XC Armchair from Poltrona Frau is the company’s flagship design, enriching its surroundings with a generously curving and iconic shape fashioned with high-quality materials through experienced craftsmanship. Originally known as the “Model 904” and renamed to Vanity Fair in the 1980s, it has been in production since 1930, using the designs left behind by renowned designer Renzo Frau, and its Deco design hasn’t missed a step since. Two robust glides with linear contours support a seat and back structure of seasoned beech, extending contoured, rounded arms in front of a plush seat slightly angled back for optimum comfort. The armchair is padded with hand-tied steel springs, hand-shaped vegetable horsehair, and goose down escorted by polyurethane foam that adds a layered and enduring comfort, covered by Poltrona Frau leather or textile held in place with small round anchors, and completed by a small metal tag with the company’s logo on the back of the armchair.
