The Under Pressure Vertical Pendant from Brokis holds its glass globe in place with a threaded metal rod that passes straight through the shape's center, entering and exiting the glass at both ends. Boris Klimek and Lenka Damova designed the piece around the moment when hot glass is still soft enough to bend under pressure before it sets, machining the rod to a fine thread that keeps even tension along the glass. The rod's threading gives the piece a mechanical look against the globe's organic, rounded curve.
