Give your table a cool modern look with the Iittala Ultima Thule Bowl, designed by Tapio Wikkala in 1968. The distinctive, melting ice-like pattern of the bowl came about organically as part of the production process, during which the glass gradually burns its way through its wood mold.

From humble beginnings as a small glass factory, today Iittala offers a wide variety of modern Scandinavian housewares that demonstrate the company's commitment to design quality and product longevity. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Iittala continues to make cookware, tableware and other home accessories that are both lovely and useful, based primarily on the forward-thinking philosophies of design icons Kaj Franck and Alvar Aalto.

Every wedding that we are invited to, I purchase this particular bowl. I fill it with beautifully folded $1.00 bills to make a salad and put plastic cherry tomatoes on top. It makes a gorgeous wedding present!
