Nice little light
Verified Buyer
We were looking for a modern reading light with a switch for a bunk room. The light is well designed and good quality. The only surprise was the base of the light was smaller than the 4" round rough in box. They included a US oversize mounting plate in the same finish but it does change the look of the light and should be shown and mentioned in the description.
Perfect accent to a 1927 bathroom
My home is a 1927 Craftsman Bungalow, and I love to mix contemporary and mid-century modern with the original details of the house. These lamps were a perfect replacement for atrocious porcelain sconces flanking the bathroom mirror. And I love that I can swivel them to direct light wherever I want it.

European fitting note
I love these lights but because they are European (as I am) the fitting that attaches to the wall is much smaller than a regular 4" rough-in box. When I spoke on numerous occasions with the UK manufacturer they currently have no solution but are apparently working on one for the future. My electrician ended up using a flat back plate over the rough-in box and then attaching the fitting but it doesn't give such a clean look as I would have liked. This applies to many European light fixtures not just Anglepoise.
Beautiful light
This light is beautiful, simple, streamlined and minimal, everything I was looking for, unfortunately, the size did not end up suiting the space. It arrived promptly. However, I must advise that I was disappointed by the Ylighting returns process. Whilst the staff were helpful, formal return instructions took days and days to arrive, I had to chase in order to get the information I needed. All in all great product, disappointing post sale service.
Anglepoise
Anglepoise started in 1899 by Herbert Terry and sons. They originally sold products that used their springs, like toasters, bike seats and spring clips. It wasn't until 1931 when George Carwardine established a theory for using balanced weights with these springs that Anglepoise introduced lighting to the company.
