a remarkably versatile clip lamp

I received this lamp as a bonus with another Artemide purchase. It is very easy to orient and adjust to get the light where you want it despite its compact shape. The clamp is sturdy and well designed, and can securely attach to diverse structures (table, shelves, railings, ledges). As a result, we use this lamp all around the house, whereever extra light it needed. I put in a CF bulb (the long, tubular kind), and it works fine. The only draw-back: $170 at full price is quite steep. I would not have bought it at that price.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Not as impressed as I had hoped

The turnaround for delivery of this product was pretty long, about 4-6 weeks. There was a metal piece you had to attach with no instructions, that I believe helps you to adjust the light. On our light, it seems to be faulty, easily falling off the light. That was a disappointment considering the price of the lamp. We already have an Artemide floor lamp and desk lamp, so our expectations were pretty high.

Tolomeo Clip Spot Light is a gorgeous piece of engineering. It articulates in any dimension and throws a wonderful, controllable arc of light. It's worth every penny even though it's darn expensive. Buy two, I dare you.

Artemide

Artemide takes its name from Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon—a reflection of the brand’s ethos in creating fixtures that deliver an elegant, ethereal glow. Founded in Milan in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, Artemide has been a driving force in Italian modern design.
