Been staring at these forever and broke down and bought 2!

You could anticipate the attention to detail on the lamp just opening the box; it was as finely designed as the lamp itself. The smoothness of adjusting the lamphead confirms how carefully crafted the lamp is. The "mid-size" fixture is perfect for it's location.
I expected perfection.
$450 is a lot to spend on a desk lamp, even if it is one I have wanted since it was first introduced in the early 1970s. Finally, Christmas morning I unwrapped it and put it on my desk. It IS beautiful. Here is what I don't like: it does not swivel on its base easily and the light is not as bright as I wanted. Also, it takes up a lot of room as it rotates around, but I expected that and it does look cool. In the end, I am happy to have it, but surprised it is not perfect.
