Made in Italy
Designed in 1989 by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto, the Luceplan Titania is an iconic design piece that serves as both artistic structure and functional lighting fixture. Its unique aluminum composition creates visual drama as the fixture appears transparent when seen from straight on and solid when viewed from the side. Optional colored filters tint the light for an attractive glow while maintaining the fixture's bright, white light.

Bought this lamp For a long long hall and it is beautiful. I already had one I bought in France many years ago but my hall needed two to be lighted correctly...I put the red color in it and everyone is amazed to see it! I highly recommend it if you like design!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

As per other reviews, this was relatively easy to install, especially if you have installed other lighting in general. The trickiest part was to get the ball-weight the correct length so that there was enough play to adjust the pendant up/down/sideways. There was a little confusing detail in the description that says "minimum length of 40 inches" - that isn't true. I have mine much closer to the ceiling, and therefore had to adjust the length of the fishing wire they provide for the ball-weight (per above comment). Results are stunning. Really looks cool - like a modern/futuristic surfboard floating over our dining table!

I've had my Titania for about 12 years. i'm always in awe of it. throughout the year i change the jells to reflect the holidays. with the dimmer and the ability to easily raise or lower the lamp i am able to create a quality of light to match my mood. this lamp is a classic. if i were Luceplan i would make available packets of colored filters containing new colors to expand the lamp's color possibilities...maybe pastels. get this lamp, you'll love it.

I love the option of colors and that the lamp it self is neutral. I can use different colors for different seasons. I love your store and selection off products and will for sure purchase more. Aloha Elizabeth Gentile on Maui

Great fun but not practical

I used this for a little boy's Star Wars themed room. The appearance and play value is 100%. The colored filters are relatively easy to change and the light itself looks very cool. It was difficult to install and very difficult to find the right size bulb. I expected it to be much brighter based on the description. It does not give enough light, I would only recommend it as an ambiance light. It is very light and it seems somewhat fragile.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Luceplan

Established in 1978 by architects Riccardo Sarfatti, Paolo Rizzatto and Sandra Severi, Luceplan defined its goal of democratic quality design, free of stylistic clichés and opulence, from the very onset. This approach--soon acknowledged by the market and numerous international awards--was perfected when Alberto Meda, an engineer with a passionate love for design, joined the team in 1984.
