A Memphis Masterpiece!

As an artist and designer I have collected a number of modern lighting icons including the Tizio, Berenice and Tolomeo lamps. The Tahiti lamp by Ettore Sottsass moves beyond his earlier minimalist work and embodies his Memphis period that features his exploration of color, humor and playfulness. Borderline kitsch this large table/desk lamp will anchor any space with its monumental sculptural presence.

Memphis Milano

Memphis Milano was a collective of artists and designers that operated from 1980 to 1988. Founded by Ettore Sottsass, Memphis Milano, also known as Memphis Group, was dedicated to creating postmodern furniture that was often experimental, colorful and abstract. Featuring asymmetrical shapes, the pieces often clashed with traditional modernist design of the time. The company is now managed by Alberto Bianchi Albrici, and products made by the group are still produced today.
