The Swan Basket from Lorena Canals showcases the outline of a swan with its wings spread to one side. Made from a blend of cotton and recycled polyester fibers formed into coiled rope and wound panel by panel, the rope is tied and stitched together entirely by hand. Each wing is shaped separately before being fastened to the body, so the layered coils stand slightly apart along the edge, adding a tactile texture. An embroidered beak sits where the curved neck comes to rest, for a final, small element of contrasting color.
