• Preventative Measures: Fabric To help maintain the appearance of your chair it should be vacuumed regularly, and kept out of direct sunlight to prevent fading. Blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent white cloth. Preventative Measures: Wood Strand Dining Chairs are made with solid wood, each with its own unique grain pattern and coloring. These variations make each piece natural and unique. We recommend cleaning all wood components with a damp, soft cloth. Do not put any extremely hot or cold food items/beverages in direct contact with the wood surface as this may cause marking or damage to the finish. Spills must be cleaned immediately or this may cause discoloration to the wood and may cause permanent damage. After cleaning the chair multiple times it may be necessary to refinish the chair with natural oil based products to restore the color and finish. Preventative Measures: Paper Cord The paper cord for the seat and backrest of the Strand Dining Chair is a distinctive feature. Any spills on the corded sections must be blotted and cleaned up immediately as this will cause discoloration. The damage may be permanent depending on the substance. Do not use abrasive cleaning products. Shrinking, Cracking, Warping Wood is very susceptible to changes in the humidity of its environment, which causes it to expand and shrink. Climate control will minimize this. A level of 40%–55% humidity with an ideal temperature of 20–22 degrees Celsius should be maintained. If minor cracks start to occur, most of the time these cracks will close once the proper humidity levels are restored. If not, using a color matched wax pen is the best solution for closing these gaps.
