The Stemlite Pendant is presented by Gubi, and it is an iconic piece of luxury lighting design with mid-century modern and contemporary influences featured throughout the composition. Comprised of a steel stem, aluminum base, and glass shade, the Stemlite’s silhouette is fluid and streamlined. Designed by Bill Curry in 1962, it was seen in the television shows Star Trek and ultimately became a staple in elevated lighting composition ever since.
In 2001, Jacob and Sebastian Gubi took over their parent’s furniture business, transforming GUBI in to an internationally recognized design house for lighting, furniture, and accessories. Based in Copenhagen, Denmark, GUBI is a purveyor of timeless and emerging designs, many of which are iconic and can be found in permanent collections around the world.
