Handblown with a centuries-old tradition of Czech glassmaking, the Stem Table Lamp from SkLO represents a focus on craft in its refined glass and metal construction. At SkLO, married design duo Karen Gilbert and Paul Pavlak mesh their backgrounds in the glass arts and architecture respectively to create restrained designs with artful touches that stress the process of craft. It stands elegantly over your table with a geometrically precise column and hardware. The restrained character of the metal emphasizes the unique, organically shaped details of the glass above. Made in the Czech Republic, the globe glass shade goes through a double-dipped and blown process. A fire-polished mouth adds a charming touch that highlights SkLO’s importance on process and surprise. The globe swells up with clean light and filters it out its surface to provide you with a soft ambient glow.

SkLO

Located in Northern California, SkLO is the brainchild of artist Karen Gilbert, architect Paul Pavlak, and Czech-native Pavel Hanousek. The three met in Healdsburg in 2009, and after discovering a unanimous passion for hand-blown glass (sklo means “glass” in Czech), they decided to create a multi-disciplinary studio focusing on glass lighting and accessory design.
