Soap Vase

The Soap Vase from Bomma captures the iridescent, shifting qualities of soap bubbles in hand-blown crystal. Designed by Boris Klimek, each piece is created without a mold, allowing the glass to form organically as the glassmaker works. This free-form approach means that every vase develops unique proportions and surface characteristics, differing from piece to piece. The metallic sheen across the crystal shifts between translucent and iridescent depending on lighting conditions and viewing angle. These color transitions reference the thin-film interference that creates rainbow effects on actual soap bubbles.
