The bed is truly beautiful. The natural burl is a deep rich walnut like color mixed with a deep chocolate almost black color. It is a true platform bed, so if you are interested in a plush mattress and potentially additional mats or pads, the elegant headboard will shrink from view.

This bed is gorgeous. Very well made and the burl is a deep rich color. My only complaint is with newer taller mattresses, if you want to put extra support under the mattress, the headboard starts to get a lot shorter in comparison. But if you're okay with a truly standard platform bed, this is perfect and truly looks great in person!
