The Ry C69E Dining Table from FDB Møbler features a central pillar base that creates an instantly recognizable profile while solving practical seating concerns. The single support provides unobstructed legroom around the entire table and offers flexibility in chair placement without corner legs to navigate. Curved edges on the tabletop add visual lightness to the otherwise substantial form, creating a balance between presence and refinement. Nissen & Gehl designed this 1978 piece to demonstrate how functional requirements can shape distinctive character without sacrificing everyday usability at the dining table.

FDB Møbler

Based in Albertslund, Denmark, FDB Møbler remains a torchbearer of timeless Danish design—producing sustainable, high-quality furniture intended to endure both physically and stylistically for generations. In 1942, amid a world dominated by heavy, ornate furnishings accessible only to the privileged few, a quiet revolution began in Denmark.
