Cannot insert a plug

legrand.us/TM826USBBK - First, to give some background. I am an electrical engineer who worked in robotics and engine control fro 20 years until I retired at 46. I have a machine shop in the basement so I have a lot of electro/mechanical knowledge. From day one I cannot insert a plug into the top or bottom. It is not the TR feature, it is the internal contacts. The design does not allow for the funneling of the male end into the socket. My only option is to get a small dremel bit and grind some relief into the receiving end.
