Created by Charlotte Perriand in 1938. The Potence Pivotante Wall Sconce from Nemo is a straightforward and modern piece whose design was inspired by the triangular jibs of sailboats. A humble aesthetic, this product displays the 20th-century pioneer’s skill with shape-based solutions to lighting needs. The arms are made of metal, and the joint connecting them can rotate 180 degrees so that you can point the light in any direction you choose. The opal sandblasted glass shade at the end of the arms provides ambient light around the room.

Founded in 1993 by Franco Cassina and Carlo Forcolini in Italy, Nemo was established to recreate the lighting pieces that best represented the "Golden Age" of Italian lighting design of the 1960s and 70s. Nemo acquired ItalianaLuce five years later, offering a line of clean, relaxed modern lighting that provided an informal counterpoint to the vintage mid-century authenticity found in Nemos modernist line of Franco Albini-designed lighting.

A measurement of the power delivered to a component of an electric circuit (allowing a one-ampere current to flow through the component under the pressure of 1 volt.)

Bulb Shape

Bulb shapes are denoted with a letter, which describes the shape, and a number, which indicates the size. The number indicates the diameter of the light bulb at its widest part in eighths of an inch.

Base

The part of the bulb that connects to the fixture and its power supply. Bulb bases are denoted with the letter E, and a number which indicates the diameter of the bulb base at its widest part in millimeters.
