The Petites Lentilles LED Chandelier from Catellani & Smith is a celebration of light, using minimal outlines to create a graceful display while off or on. Catellani & Smith’s focus for each piece is to give shape to light. Here, the studio pulls one’s attention to the shapes below with an ultra-fine, visually-disappearing wire suspension. A slim metal oval frame hangs below with an openness that invites one into the communal spaces. This oval is dotted with brilliant lamping and rounded lenses that help to scatter light and reduce glare. The filtered light comes together to create a rousing and surrounding glow.
