Necessary for 12+ ceiling
I love our Pensi fan, but without the longest downrod they offered, the fan would not have been efficient. We have 12'6" ceiling in our covered deck, and the longest downrod offers plenty of space for the air to move and looks sleek visually. Only con was the impossible nut that wouldn't budge that held the 4" standard downrod. We had to exchange our fans, but customer service at Lumens was excellent.

Modern Fan Company
The Modern Fan Company was founded in 1997 by industrial designer Ron Rezek in Ashland, Oregon. It was the first (and to this day, only) company of its kind: a designer and manufacturer of contemporary ceiling fans. It was established based on the overwhelming success of Rezek's 1986 design of the Stratos Ceiling Fan, which did away with all ornate brass scrollwork and blade irons standard up until that time.
