    The Balon Pendant from Niche features a smooth, elongated glass form with an understated presence overhead. Its design centers on a hand-applied technique that lets color fade gradually into clear glass, creating a soft, layered transition. The exposed bulb rests low within the glass, visible through the clear lower portion once the gradient gives way, so the light source becomes part of the reveal rather than something hidden. A slim metal stem and canopy support the glass with a minimal profile, keeping attention on the handblown shape itself.

    Niche

    Niche was founded by accident. In 2003, Jeremy Pyles and Mary Welch were in the process of opening a home furnishings store in Manhattan, called Niche, but couldn't find inspiring display lighting for the storefront. So Pyles designed a glass pendant and had it custom blown in New York (where all Niche products are still hand-blown).
