The Kartell Optic Cube Storage designed by Patrick Jouin is an exciting faceted cube with its transparent and mirrored parts that create a special reflected atmosphere. Optic is a container cube which comes in two versions: closed with a door or open without a door. Its surface is strikingly decorated with square based pyramids which whether transparent or mirrored create a strong visual impact.

I was happy with this selection. I bought it for a client for a contemporary home. I didn't realize that if you do not buy this with the door that the 4th side is completely open. I just thought that with a door meant that it had a functional door, and without a door meant that it was just a four sided cube. Probably just my misinterpretation of the description. I would recommend this as a artistic and functional to a contemporary design.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
