While Oluce lighting has its roots in traditional Murano glass blowing techniques, things changed in the mid-1950s when Oluce moved in a more industrial-minded direction, resulting in highly contemporary designs with an edgy and dramatic flair.
With over 70 years of experience, Oluce has helped pave the way for other lighting brands with years of research and innovative production methods under their belt. This has resulted in a level of international recognition that has attracted world-renowned designers to contribute to their collection of lamps, including Joe and Gianni Colombo, Vico Magistretti and others.

In 1970, Joe Colombo designed a floor lamp that was the first to be outfitted with a halogen bulb for a residential setting.
Designed by Vico Magistretti in 1971, the Oluce Atollo Glass Table Lamp became an instant classic with its strong modern design, featuring a bold dome shade atop a pointed cylinder in solid metal. The robust yet simple nature of the design is undoubtedly why it has remained in production since, solidifying its place in history as a timeless piece of contemporary design.
