Iconic bench

I waited a long time to order this bench (had to save up for it) and I was not disappointed. I resisted all other temptation and insisted I buy a "Made in USA" product (doing my part), the craftsmanship is superb, design is timeless and iconic. I opted for the metal legs (and so should you) it's a departure from the norm and it brings a quiet modern elegance to any room you put it in. I ordered my bench in the natural maple and it's lovely (slightly lighter than I thought, most of my wood furniture is a European or Japanese Maple/birch which is yellow/reddish but that's really luck of the draw... unless everything you have is made from a single tree). All in all I am very satisfied with Lumens and the bench... keep up the great work folks!

This platform bench was a great purchase. I especially love the metal legs. I think they look great. Even though it is a new update, they still look very classic and fitting. The mechanism is also super cool, with just one screw on each side they fold flat to the bench for easy storage and moving. Another great thing about the metal version is that you won't find cheap knock-offs of it everywhere. This is such a classic and versatle piece, I was planning to use it as a bench in the entry way, but when it arrived, I tried it as a coffee table and it worked perfectly and I liked it even better there. The construction is very solid, and it had no imperfections. I plan to have this for a long time, and when you consider the versatility, it should work in almost any home. I got the 48 inch version, and the proportions were very nice. I do agree that the price was a bit high, but when on sale and considering all the positives, I think it's a good value.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Good looking but soft wood prone to damages during transport

It's a good looking bench especially for small room that needs a "light", non-obstructive feel. However dark spots and patterns appear randomly-this would have been fine if it's like this throughout the entire bench but the wood grain is otherwise 99% consistent and so these random spots are annoying. The wood is very soft and it's prone to dents and damages during transport.
