The Model 1081 Floor Lamp from Astep is a delectable, daring offering rich with contemporary simplicity and able to dispense a warm and even ambiance. Designed by the redoubtable Gino Sarfatti, it is one of his most memorable expressions of luminous spheres, updating a retro design to something a touch more modern with something to say. At once elegant and luxurious, it is controlled by a floor switch and rises from a circular steel base via a slim stem, blooming the subtle warmth of an opaline glass diffuser around inner lamping and delivering a rich, even warmth that extends in all directions, the shade itself appearing to hover when lit.

Astep

Astep is a Danish design company founded by Alessandro Sarfatti, the son of Luceplan co-founder Riccardo Sarfatti. According to Sarfatti, the name Astep indicates a natural movement and progression toward creation of better and more substantial things and represents admiration for timeless objects that retain their edge regardless of when they were designed. Astep honors the history and evolution of design, creating new lighting solutions while editing iconic objects that inspire the company.
