The Artek A330S Pendant, also known as the Golden Bell, was originally designed in the 1950s for large building projects. It first appeared in the teachers' lunchroom at the Finnish University of Jyvaskyla. The Artek A330S is a simplified version of the A330, featuring a solid body versus the more segmented look of the A330.

I love this lamp, but the cords come in an off white that looks lavender. Not just a little. Tried to re-wire and can't get it apart.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Beautiful Shape

Beautiful shape but the gold is a little tacky and not as luxurious as pictured. Unlike feeling like a metal with substance the lamp had the look and feel of a christmas ornament. Not the best, but another color might be better.

These pendants are very versatile. The classic bell shape appeals to those with a traditional sensibility (like my wife), but the high gloss reflective finish and perforated bottom edge give this fixture a modern edge. I love the visual vibration that occurs when the light interacts with the perforations! I'm not crazy about the white plastic cord, but that's just a matter of personal preference. All in all, this classic, elegant pendant was my gateway into the beautiful range of mid-century lighting from Artek.

From the shapely bell, to the polished finish that melts away and reflects all at once and then the lovely little cutout detail at the rim....absolute perfection! More than we expected from this simple pendant.

This lamp is gorgeous. Between its luminous mirror finish and the tiny slots that sparkle with light... I never want to live without it. Thank you Alvar Aalto.

Artek

In 1935, Alvar and Aino Aalto, Maire Gullichsen and Nils-Gustav Hahl teamed up to "promote a modern culture of habitation by exhibitions and other educational means." They wanted to change the way the public viewed modern design by incorporating their beautiful, simple, functional designs into everyday life. "Artek" is a mashup of Art and Technology and sums up the company's philosophy.
