Beautiful Last Minute Find
My wife and I had been looking for a light fixture for above our dining room table. We have been working on a whole house renovation with a contemporary look and were searching for a fixture to match. The Dining Room has 8' ceilings and we wanted something that we could see through or had a low profile so as not to impede the view. We had been looking at fixtures for some time and thought we had made our decision (but were reluctant to pull the trigger). Fortunately, I received and email from Lumens advertising a Marset sale. I wasn't familiar with the manufacturer, but after scanning their selection, I was ecstatic to find the Ginger pendant. We have clear stained white oak floors and blackened steel handrails that are visible from the Dining Room. The materials and colors of this fixture compliment the palette perfectly. And we both love the low profile, adjustable height and the LED features. We have other lighting in the room (recessed cans), so this is not our only source of light. Despite the fact that the fixture was being delivered from Spain, it arrived quicker than expected. We're so glad we waited to make the purchase!
Marset
Marset was established in 1942 as a family business, not making lighting, but as a foundry. That foundation in casting metals did eventually segue into lighting design, however, with Francisco Marset formally establishing Marset Illuminacion in 1965. The decades spent experimenting with and molding metal translated well into the contemporary lighting industry: manipulating all kinds of materials to create unexpected, atmospheric lighting effects.
