The Luminator LED Floor Lamp from FontanaArte reduces floor lighting to its most elemental form. A slim metal shaft rises from a circular base and opens at the top into a cone that directs light upward. Pietro Chiesa, who later served as artistic director at FontanaArte alongside Gio Ponti, approached the design with a near-abstract discipline, stripping it down to its essential function. The upward-directed output is dimmable via a switch button, and the lamp includes a plug-in power supply with interchangeable international plugs.

FontanaArte

Architect Gio Ponti founded FontanaArte lighting in Milan in 1932 after serving as the artistic director of Luigi Fontana Company. The focus was on stained glass and its awe-inspiring presence in churches and cathedrals. In 1979, the contemporary lighting company is purchased by several private buyers and is revitalized to include well-known architects and glass artists.
