Looks Great - Shoddy Quality?
Within minutes of taking the product out of the box, one of the glass lenses broke free of the aluminum ring - it is just glued in with a small bead of glue. Otherwise the fixture is quite substantial in both size and weight. The lenses have a little rubber seal and screw in with internal threads. There are no exposed fasteners. It's a shame that the quality was so poor - we really like the way they look and will report on the replacement units when they arrive.

Back in 1965, Jacob Sperling came to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. Inspired by a job working for a lighting retailer, he turned his mechanical skills to the manufacture of lighting fixtures, building them in his garage and selling them out of his station wagon. In 1970, he brought brother Zvi on to help, and Maxim Lighting was born.
