Key Features
The Libellule Pendant Light from Forestier adds a sense of flow to modern spaces with a light and open piece that’s simple enough to complement a range of home styles. Uniting immaterial light with airy, solid elements, designer Elise Fouin created a piece that consists of two pieces placed back-to-back. Each piece is formed from thin metal lines that unite and wave into an abstract, yet pleasing shape. A single lamp hangs between them, emitting a bright glow that accentuates the playfulness of the piece.
Grounded in a passionate reverence for the ceaseless beauty of the natural world, it was a mesmerizing appreciation for the ornamental aspects of French gardens that provided the tipping point for Bernard Forestier to found his namesake company in 1992. Remaining true to those original aesthetics -- proportionality, balance, juxtaposing clean and curvy lines -- Forestier continues to move forward, employing new material mediums and pushing stylistic boundaries while continuing to advance the core disciplines upon which the company was built.
