The sled base is made of steel rods and includes plastic glides that prevent damage to flooring.

The frame is as amazing in person as it looks in photos! It is a work of art and we shifted its orientation so you can see the wire frame. It is more comfortable than I expected to sit in. The upholstery is very high quality. Note there is not a lot of padding, but enough. Very happy with this choice.
