The La Mère Plate with Handle from Serax is an oval stoneware plate with a short, upturned handle at one end, the form shaped loosely by hand rather than pressed to a uniform template. Part of Marie Michielssen's La Mère collection, it is finished with a glaze that settles unevenly across the surface, with the organic outline and slight irregularities in the handle both reflecting the handmade process. As a result, no two pieces come out the same.
