Designer and architect Ferruccio Laviani draws inspiration from the classical Japanese dance-drama known for its glamorous costumes to create this beautiful fixture that is crafted of thermoplastic technopolymer using injection molded technology. The top resembles a classic vase, while the bottom looks like a candlestick. When lit, the light filters through the woven lacy-like structure to create a visually striking lighting experience.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
