Solid chair but very disappointed in the quality of workmans

I ordered eight 111 Navy Chairs in Charcoal. I was so excited to finally get them only to be deeply disappointed by the quality of the chairs. Each chair had visible stain-like marks across the 3 vertical stems of its back. Apparently, those blemishes are the 'seam' of the chair. But if Emeco has such high standards, why wouldn't they put the seam in a less obvious place? It just looks like they forgot to do a final coat of paint over the 'seams'. I was told that the seam is less visible on the lighter colored chairs. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered them in the first place. Now I've returned all 8 and am on the hunt for a decent black chair...again!

The chairs provide a much needed clean modern vibe to my office space. I have received many positive comments from colleagues. As an added bonus, they are sturdy yet light and easy to move to nearby offices for extra seating. Highly delighted with this purchase!

I bought these for conference table chairs, and they feel perfect. They're quite the statement piece. They have a nice warmth and weight to them. I was worried about them being too light, but they're just right.

These chairs are nice looking and reasonably comfortable. I will note that they are a little smaller then I was expecting, but are good value for the money.

Emeco

Electrical Machine and Equipment Company (Emeco) was founded in 1944 by Wilton Carlyle Dinges in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Dinges' first assignment came from no other than the U.S. government, to manufacture a strong yet lightweight chair that could withstand water, salt air and rowdy sailors. The result was the iconic Emeco Navy Chair, made enitrely out of durable machined aluminum.
