Made in Netherlands
Designed by Bertjan Pot in 2013 for Moooi, the Heracleum III LED Chandelier is a decorative LED fixture with 45 rotatable polycarbonate lenses inspired by the Heracleum Plant. The white lenses ramify from one branch creating a technical, natural structure. By using the technique of conductive layers, the fixture remains delicate and thin. The Heracleum III LED Chandelier's leaves are not frozen in one position, they can be freely re-positioned by rotating them around their stem.

Beautiful Light Fixture

Submitted 10 years ago

By PF70

We installed this fixture over a table in a window. It makes such a statement. We like the distinctive and organic look and feel of the piece. On a practical level, it does not offer a tremendous amount of light--it is more about ambiance. The lights remind me of Christmas lights in terms of their effect.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

This light fixture was just the ticket for my dining room, where I needed something that would be modern but not too dense so as not to block any of my ocean views. The light fixture was very easy to adjust to the height I wanted as well.

Order three of these lights for a Great Room and the result is gorgeous! Not only did they arrive in a very quick fashion but are a great accent light to the space. Would highly recommend using this product. Light fixture that creates interest without heaviness.

Over our dining room table, it casts a uniform ambient glow in all directions that feels like candlelight, though the light itself is very white. Wattage is more than enough over a table (seats 10). We keep it dimmed and it dims nicely. The petals are actually little caps that snap on over the LEDs and you can rotate them freely, though this has no effect on the light or its directionality. It simply allows you to arrange them if you wish. The dimensions are nearly identical to the antique bronze chandelier it replaced--this is the right size for over a table. The large canopy houses a heavy and impressive transformer. The instructions are minimal drawings straight out of Ikea. However careful study reveals there's not much to know. There are no loose wires to connect with wire nuts. You insert the wires into slots then tighten screws onto them, very much like connecting stereo speakers to a receiver (to those of us of a certain age...). Installation is very easy. The rep at YLighting reported to me that some people dislike the size of the canopy. I disagree and would argue that it balances the weightlessness of the fixture. A smaller, flatter canopy would make the whole thing feel insubstantial. I ordered the Copper finish, which is not coppery at all. It doesn't have the orange tones of copper. I would describe the color more as a metallic cafe au lait. Or perhaps a very very light bronze. We have a lot of antique gold in the dining room and it blends beautifully. This is a stunning and organic fixture, more a lit sculpture of the flowerhead that inspired it. Practical advice: The box is huge and wouldn't fit through a door. We removed the fixture outside and carried it in by the stem. But once you've picked it up, you can't put it down because of all the petals! Solution: Position a tall vase on a table beforehand (12" will do). You can then slip the stem into the vase with the branches resting on the rim (it weighs nothing) until you're ready to hang it, with the heavy transformer sitting beside it or on the floor.

Not Worth The Price

I was disappointed to see that the lenses or "leaves" are plastic. It makes the fixture look cheep. Also it says that it is UL listed but ours did not come with a UL listed sticker.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
