Loving the Gnome!
It's true what the other reviewer said about these being shaky to sit on, but I put a lamp on mine and don't sit on it. So, I'm happy to look at it and have it in my place.
Good Design, Worst Quality
I have loved the look of the gnome stool for a long time and finally bought it. Unfortunately the quality leaves a lot to be desired. There are just too many problems: - The base of the stool is uneven so it is shaky on the floor - The finish of the paint around the ear area is bumpy and rough - The biggest problem is the top. First it is hollow so it can't support much weight. Second, it is not flat with a raised center. Who would want a stool that can't hold weight, shaky and not flat.
Kartell
Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
