Comments about Havana Floor Lamp
I love the design and the subtle lighting, but a challenge to put together, the half circle rings that suspend the shades don't stay in so when you move it-if you've managed to put it together-they fall out and it's a mess. The base didn't hold the pole straight with the screws provided so I bought longer ones at the hardware store that didn't help. In the end after spending too much time trying to make it work I returned it. Not worth the over $700 I spent. Poorly executed construction!

iconic yet not awesome

Was hoping to love the lamp yet it does not have the wow I had hoped for. Was a bit frustrating to put together- once lite it is a nice soft glow in the room. It always appears slightly leaning no matter how many times I adjust. Overall its iconic yet not wow wow!
Looks great, but not worth the price
To preface, this lamp looks great, but it's not even close to worth the price. The plastic pieces are extremely cheap and seem very obviously machine produced with irregularities that you would not expect from an item that costs $700. The rings that keep the plastic pieces together are pathetic - I'm surprised with such a high mark-up, they weren't able to afford closed links because moving the lamp may result in the links falling out and the lamp deconstructing. The small screws keeping the metal pieces together are also cheap and prone to fall out because the design is shoddy. It may look nice, but given its low quality of construction and materials (polyethylene is dirt cheap, 5 cents per pound) and poor construction, I wouldn't pay more than $40 for this, let alone $700. My original piece also came defective where one of the plastic pieces didn't have the necessary holes to link it up with the other pieces, but one look at the quality and I returned it asap.
Finally
It was easy enough to assemble without any help. I used a Philips EnduraLED bulb so I won't have to change it for many years. This lamp looks fantastic when all lit up.
Great Lamp, everything we expected.
My wife and I fell in love with this lamp, seeing it on this site. We had read a post that indicated some difficulty in assembly. I work with my hands and can see where it might pose a challenge to some, but I had no problem putting it together. It looks great in the space we have placed it and the glow of this lamp is just perfect. Couldn't be happier. We ordered over the phone and the service rep was great to work with.
Foscarini
Founded on the Murano island in Venice, Italy in 1981, Foscarini started out creating blown glass-based lighting. They eventually expanded into other materials (the first being the Havana in 1993), and moved in 1994 to the Marcon area of Venice, into a building that reflected the modern aesthetic of their contemporary lighting. Success led to brand stability and swiftly growing name recognition.
