The Melampo lamp is a beautiful, elegant, & simple design of high quality which works perfectly in both the bedroom & living room. The shade allows a soft glow of light & the 3 ways to tilt the shade make it look like a different lamp.
Functionally great and good looking

This is the primary light in a guest bedroom, and, it's design is perfect for that purpose. The three way positioning means that it can be used as a pedestal, reading, or, torchiere lamp. All in all, it will serve it's purpose well and for long, given the solid build of the lamp, the multiple functions it can serve, and the overall appearance. Packaging, delivery and assembly instructions were all very good and adequate for an individual to assemble it. Why only 4 stars? For a lamp this pricey, the power cord doesn't fit into the pedestal groove. A small silicone/plastic lug in the groove to hold the wire in place would easily solve the problem and wouldn't cost anything. The foot switch that came with the lamp is cheap and easily gets twisted around by the power cord. A bigger, heavier foot switch, close to the pedestal would be a better design. (I just leave it on and use the wall switch to turn it on and off.) Considering the cost, this sort of attention to detail is not too much to expect or ask for. All the more so, considering this is an Italian design.
Beautiful smart design
This lamp is really beautifully designed. It looks very sleek. The color is a little more grey/silver than expected but still great. Check the dimensions as I imagined it would be a little taller. The shade pivot is a brilliant concept and I alternate between the three options frequently, as the smart design makes it easy to do. It's also very sturdy. Great purchase, couldn't be happier.
Artemide
Artemide takes its name from Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon—a reflection of the brand’s ethos in creating fixtures that deliver an elegant, ethereal glow. Founded in Milan in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, Artemide has been a driving force in Italian modern design.
