The Jonathan Adler Story
As an individual, Jonathan Adler brings irreverence, a love of color and luxury, and an artist's eye to everything he designs. It goes to follow that, as a design company, Jonathan Adler Designs is "dedicated to bringing style, craft, joy, and a general feeling of grooviness to your home," including everything from rugs and pottery to furniture and lighting.
This kind of do-whatever-feels-good approach to design is exactly what makes Adler's designs accessible to so many. Partnered with fine lighting manufacturer Robert Abbey, Inc., the Jonathan Adler lighting collection in particular has proven very popular.
Why We Love Jonathan Adler
Adler's artistic inclinations began with his childhood discovery of and subsequent obsession with pottery. When Barneys New York commissioned his pots in the mid-1990s, this hobby blossomed into a career. Adler eventually opened his own store and expanded his creative eye into interior design and the design of home furnishings. As a testament to his success, he nabbed a spot as a judge on Bravo channel's "Top Design" in 2007.
Noteworthy Products From Adler
One point in the Jonathan Adler manifesto reads, "We believe our lamps will make you look younger and thinner." While that is left in the eye of the beholder, Jonathan Adler lamps certainly add much to decor, using modernist forms, bright, bold colors and funky graphic prints.
