A harmonious combination of materials that pulls elements from several eras, the Curb Coffee Table by Lyon Beton was inspired by the urban environment and two photographs designer Bertrand Jayr saved. In one image, the foreground features a mini concrete halfpipe with a skateboard sitting alone as a man and a dog sit in the background with various items. The second, a photo in black and white, shows a series of large concrete-looking slabs with designs that are similar to those featured in the bold, bas-relief frieze found along one side of this coffee table. A tempered, tinted glass section pays a subtle tribute to the beloved, popular colors from the 70s, revealing a cool, curved shelf within this table. Unique from every angle, the concrete build of this piece is perched on a set of sturdy, slender, metal legs so that it almost appears to float.
