I bought this to use in my kitchen which has a below average ceiling height. It only comes down a few inches from the ceiling which was awesome, and the number of lights (4) felt like plenty to direct to points around the room. The lights themselves are harsh when viewed dead on, so I had to angle them up a bit higher than preferred. Overall, it does exactly what I need it to do and gives off lots of light for its size.
