Contardi Lighting

Contardi has earned the name “Couturier of Light” for an approach that treats lighting the way an atelier treats fine tailoring. Based in Cesano Maderno, in the Brianza region internationally recognized as a cradle of Italian design, the company develops its lighting both in-house and with international designers, guided by its own technical office. Local, “zero-mile” production keeps every piece authentically Made in Italy, for residential, hospitality, commercial, and yacht projects alike.

An Archi-Decorative Approach to Light

Contardi describes its style as “archi-decorative,” a balance between architectural lighting and decorative design. Bespoke materials and refined finishes are paired with advanced LED technology, so each fixture works as both a precise light source and an expressive object. The results are eclectic and modern, and highly adaptable: materials and details can be tailored to suit a specific project, a key reason the brand is a favorite for hospitality and contract work. Contardi launched its first branded product in 2006, but its history goes back to collaborations more than 30 years ago.

Three Pillars of the Collection

Contardi’s collection is built around three defining pillars. Timeless icons, including Alma and Calypso, embody the brand’s signature style. Its reading collection, featuring Flexiled, Manhattan, and Picchio, shows its technical command of focused, functional light. Marine Grade rounds out the range with the full outdoor collection, from Clara and Muse to Cube and Claretta, all built to withstand the elements without compromising on design.

Why We Curate Contardi

At Lumens, we look for brands that bring real craftsmanship and technical depth to lighting, and Contardi delivers both with a distinctly Italian sense of style. Its tailored approach to materials, local production in Brianza, and range spanning interiors, outdoor spaces, and even yachts make it a versatile choice for designers and homeowners alike. For projects that call for lighting with couture-level detail, Contardi stands apart.
