The Chuleta Wall Mirror from Phillips Collection makes the most of a small, freeform slice of timber. Fashioned from an end-cut of chamcha wood, the piece is hollowed out at the center to hold the glass, leaving a wide, irregular rim that follows the natural outline of the log. Growth rings, fine cracks, and a band of darker heartwood around the opening remain clearly visible, turning a section many would discard into a dynamic, sculptural frame.
