The Chantilly Wall Sconce from Maxim Lighting has almost no visible shade. In its place, a frame holds a fine, cascading chain that drapes over the light source, concealing it almost completely, so only a soft glow shows through the links. Metal trim rings hold the chain in place at the top and bottom. Built entirely from steel, the piece pairs a rigid frame with a loose, draped surface that moves slightly when touched or brushed.

Maxim Lighting

Back in 1965, Jacob Sperling came to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. Inspired by a job working for a lighting retailer, he turned his mechanical skills to the manufacture of lighting fixtures, building them in his garage and selling them out of his station wagon. In 1970, he brought brother Zvi on to help, and Maxim Lighting was born.
