Wegner in 1950, and gets its name from the distinctive Y-shaped back. It is strong yet lightweight, with a solid wood frame and a unique seat made by hand weaving more than 120 meters of specialty paper cord.

- For everyday care of Carl Hansen wood furniture, simply wipe clean with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. (Cleaning agents or chemicals are not recommended.) Lacquered furniture requires no further maintenance. For soap and oil finishes, however, reapplication every 4-6 weeks is recommended for long term beauty and strength:

My new Hans Wegner Wishbone chairs are so nice - I love them. They are design icons, and they look great with my round dining table. They are also very comfortable while sitting in them. Their classic modern design is so distinct and eye catching. I am so happy with my purchase.

These chairs are the perfect combination of design and comfort. They look beautiful, feel great to sit in and make any decor look instantly stylish. One of my favorite furniture pieces ever - and an easy recommendation to clients.

Terrific Chair, but "soft red" color is brownish red!

These are beautiful. The only thing I'd caution is that the "soft red" color is really more of a dark terra cotta--it has a definite brownish undertone. The photos (on other retailers sites as well) look much more berry colored to me. I thought they'd sent the wrong chair to me, but noticed that on the Carl Hansen website they call it "red brown," which makes more sense. I've had a difficult time taking a photo that accurately represents the true color, but I'm uploading the best one I could capture.
Also--be aware: I ordered 8 chairs, and when I looked at the possibility of returning them on the Lumens website, it said I could only return 5 of them (that there is a limit when you order multiple items). Maybe they would have made an exception if I'd called, but I decided just to keep them.

Beautiful! The chair is surprisingly comfortable and sturdy, but lightweight enough that you can move the chair if needed to use just about anywhere in your home. Bonus: no assembly required!
