Smooth, light cement color and texture. Looks great hung - the diffuser is great quality and doesn't block the amount of light but does help hide the view of the bulb. These are heavy and will need a secure mount.

I saw this in a local store and fell in love (so unusual) . The next day received catalog with small photo of same pendant-at a huge savings so I bought it and love it . I needed the light to shine down on island and this works perfectly. Easy to adjust length by just tying a knot !
