Scented vs. Unscented Candles

Candle lovers have an impressive array of candles to choose from which often makes it difficult to decide on the candle that best suits your needs and preferences. Scented candles are extremely popular since there are literally hundreds of appealing scents and colors to choose from.

Unscented candles provide the same aesthetic as scented versions, but without the aroma. Those who have allergies or are highly sensitive to different smells may opt for unscented candles. Also, unscented candles can be strictly decorative in nature, allowing you to use other home fragrance items, such as diffusers, in the same room.

The Difference Between a Diffuser and A Candle

Two of the most popular home fragrance items are candles and diffusers. Although both types serve the same purposes of filling your home with amazing scents, they are very different.

Sometimes referred to as a reed diffuser, this type of product typically consists of a base made of glass that contains a fragranced liquid. A reed comprised of wood or another material is inserted into the fragrance-filled base and the scent is dispersed into the air. Diffusers provide a steady and subtle release of fragrance that does not require lighting.

Candles are usually made of paraffin wax, soy, or a combination of the two and deliver fragrance only when lit. In addition, candles only liquefy when lit, making them easier to transport between rooms without the risk of making a mess.
