Establish a clever contemporary style with the Black Forest Linear Suspension by Maxim Lighting. A flat rectangular canopy suspends two parallel stems using short chains, dropping down to a flat-sided and angular steel bar that suspends four open sockets facing downward. A rectangular wood frame hangs horizontally around the open sockets, blocking a touch of glare from the sides with a mix of flat-sided steel and wood. Best accentuated with retro-filament bulbs, the fixture offers stark elegance and flawless functionality.

Maxim Lighting

Back in 1965, Jacob Sperling came to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. Inspired by a job working for a lighting retailer, he turned his mechanical skills to the manufacture of lighting fixtures, building them in his garage and selling them out of his station wagon. In 1970, he brought brother Zvi on to help, and Maxim Lighting was born.
