If looking to add a rustic look to one of the busiest rooms of the home, wood fixtures and furnishings are a worthy choice. A wood look will often spark an image of something handmade or simple, allowing an easygoing atmosphere to be present in the room for all family, friends and guests to enter. The wood look will also prevent glare on the surface, making the room feel more solid and homely, something that metal can’t often accomplish.

A wood vanity light will consist of the same qualities as other bath and vanity lights, which is to say they will mount on the wall usually above the mirror but sometimes along the side. Wood bathroom vanity lights will evoke the same silhouettes as well, usually with an elongated backplate that mounts several bulbs. These bulbs can be incandescent or LEDs, and they can be arranged in a simple and clean, linear fashion or with a decorative shade that may help guide the light. An LED is a much smaller and more energy-efficient option, allowing the silhouette of the piece to possibly be more creative as they are tiny implements that can be hidden somewhere in the piece, creating a unique light display, rather than a large glass bulb.

Other Considerations

Wood light fixtures do not only consist of vanity lights. Any type of light can most likely come with a wood veneer, including wood wall sconces and wood pendants. These options are popular for the bathroom as well, although they only provide an accent light from the wall or a downward beam from the ceiling, respectively. The vanity light will provide a full and even glow in the room. This is not to say a vanity light should be prioritized over other light fixtures. All three mentioned can be useful depending on the task at hand or personal taste. Wood sconces and pendants would be an effective way to continue the style of the room, matching with furnishings as well to make a consistent and warm view for all who use the bathroom in the home.
