For My Mother

Submitted 17 years ago

By LightingLover

From Sacramento, CA

Every year for the past 3 years for Mother's Day I purchase a set of 5 Chilewich place mats for my mom, which she absolutely loves. The basketweave I particularly like because for each color option like "oyster" there are several different colors woven into the mat showing a glimpse of these while in different light. The only negative thing I have to say about the placemat is that as they are woven, there are little holes in the placemat and a spill of soup goes right through to the table. But that's nothing a sponge won't solve! Plus, they make my mom smile because she just loves to accessorize everything, even dinner!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Chilewich

In 1997, Sandy Chilewich founded Chilewich based on her experience choosing materials for HUE legwear. Her first products were the Raybowls and Ray Tray, using stretchable, breathable mesh for produce storage. During that design process, Chilewich came across woven vinyl. Impressed by that material's durability and design versatility, Chilewich introduced her first collection of vinyl floormats, tablemats and totes in 2000.
